Chorrillos lies just south of Barranco along the Pacific Coast. The district is the closest thing to a beach community in Lima because of its sand, as opposed to the rocky shores that line most of the city. However the crowds and waveless water are a turnoff for most.
Despite the crowded beach, Chorrillos is worth a visit for the fish market at the pier. There you can find day-fresh ceviche for the best price in the city.
